Bad smell in your baby room is perhaps the last think you’d want. Well, me too. That’s why I was very happy when offered to test and review the Tommee Tippee Sangenic Hygienic Nappy Disposal System. I used their previous model for my daughter when she was a baby and was very happy with it. It not only kept the bad nappy smell away, but it was also compact and easy to use. My only regret then was that I didn’t discover it earlier (never knew there was something so much better than the usual nappy bags).
If I need to compare the two models, the new one offers tighter packing of the diapers. There is also a lot less bag used per diaper in the new model because of the improved wrapping technique. From environmental point of view this is also a plus and a good reason to recommend this product.
While odour is important factor, the hygiene is also something on the top of the list when it comes to caring for a baby. It’s also easy to clean, using some antibacterial wipes, so you can just wipe it and go.
The Tommee Tippee Sangenic Hygienic Nappy Disposal System individually wraps the dirty nappies in a fragranced film to lock away nappy smells, germs and mess. Good bye, nappy bags, I’ve got a much better solution. The advanced, multi-layer antibacterial film keeps on killing germs even inside the tub so a long-lasting hygiene protection is guaranteed. As it says on the pack, the anti-bacterial film kills 99.9% of germs on contact – not bad at all.
Another advantage is that the Tommee Tippee Sangenic Hygienic Nappy Disposal System is so easy to use – you can open with one hand, then simply pop the dirty nappy in the top and twist to seal it away with no smell or germs. There is no need to push the bag down to create a new drop zone for the next diaper (as I used to do with the previous model) – the lid takes care of that task.
It’s compact as well: it holds up to twenty-eight nappies in one single system, so it saves me time and effort. One film cassette is included with the starter kit, but I already researched online and there are pretty good offers if you buy a pack of three Sangenic Compatible Refill Cassettes at a time. Each refill lasts up to a month.
For me this is probably the best invention ever – every parent should have one!

Nutrition and healthy eating is on the top list of priorities for my family, especially when it comes to cooking for my daughter. As she used to have multiple allergies (and still has a couple), breastfeeding was a challenge for me, weaning was nightmare and ensuring all she eats now is home-made using organic and fresh ingredients (always!) is tiring. Still, I enjoy doing it because this is how healthy eating habits are established from early age, which will help her later in life. I do homemade yogurt and homemade bread, but I am not a hero – I so often struggle in coming up with new ideas for meals.
This is why the new Ella’s Kitchen cookbook is a treasure for me. I was kindly offered to review the book (thank you, lovely people) so when I had a first glance at the book I was trilled. The cookbook looks brilliant! It has some fantastic ideas which I can’t wait to try with my daughter!
The cookbook is bright and colourful, fun and is a pleasure to browse through. Apart from the easy to follow recipes organised in a few chapters by meal times (i.e. first foods, lunch ideas, puds, weekend treats, etc.), the book also offers ideas how to grow your own veggies. This is so appealing to me as I want my daughter to value the food she eats and also to experience it from growing the seeds to picking up the veggies to eating the rainbow of vitamins in a healthy meal.
Now that I am expecting my second baby the ‘First foods’ and the weaning plan in this book would come in very handy as well. There are ideas how to mix baby food as well as how to introduce them – which ones first, how often, how much, etc. My daughter loved Ella’s Kitchen pre-made foods when she was little, and I’ll definitely buy them for my second one as they are very handy especially on the go.
However being able to cook with fresh ingredients is invaluable, so the recipe ideas would be very welcome.
The recipes in this book contain simple ingredients that most people would be able to find in their local shop or market. The book inspires me to make fresh and healthy food for my kids.
My daughter was so excited when looked t the images, that she already promised to help in the kitchen! It would be lovely to spend more time with her preparing her favourite meals and puddings while talking her through the ingredients and most importantly, having fun together! So yes, I would definitely recommend this to my friends.

Now that I am expecting my second baby, the stress levels are not decreasing. Late nights at home combine with my hectic days at work are only adding to the tired look I get every morning. Luckily, Green People sent me recently their new sensitive Rejuvenating Eye Cream for me to test. I know that my eyes is probably the are the area that tells how tired I am and hence, needs most care. So I jumped out of joy and started using the eye cream daily. I’ve been applying a thin layer around my eyes each morning for the past month, whice proved to be enough time to already see the difference.
The pregnancy sicknesss has made me hate all types of smells, but mainly the perfumes and cosmetics aromas, no matter how gentle they are. The Green People sensitive Rejuvenating Eye Cream is neutral meaning there is not even a hint a smell, making it perfect for me at the moment and also reducing any chances of skin allergies.
The first thing I noticed was how easy it was to apply the cream – it’s a light-weight smooth consistance that immediately made the area around my eyes feel soft and suptle. This eye cream contains the essential nutrients needed to protect, soften and nourish your delicate eye area. The key ingredients are Avocado, Seedeed, Evening Primroise and Shea Butter, which best fight the signs of tiredness. Shea Butter is rich in Vitamins A and E. Additionally, the powerful Aloe Vera gives that slightly cooling effect while reducing inflamination and redness, while the Perilla oil and Marshmallow work together to promote an even complexation and to reduce the dark circles.
And I love that after I put it on, the skin around my eyes actually glows (in a good way). Another stellar product from Green People. I highly recommend it!

Recently I was given a lovely white/ red BabyBjorn Toilet Trainer Seat to test and review on this blog (thank you so much!)
I knew BabyBjorn products are great as I bought the Smart Potty when my daughter was 2-y.o. After trying so many other potties (with no success), she finally liked this one and decided to use it. Form then on she’s been using the toilet ‘like a big girl’. So I was very happy to receive this product as there was no doubt for me about the quality.
My daughter is now 5, so it wasn’t a toilet training for her, still she is still not big enough to use the normal toilet seat and needs one that would fit her. She loved it! We recently moved to a new house and our toilet seat is a bit odd shaped and the other seat we had was wobbled alarmingly. This is adjustable and fits very snugly and feels safer as a result.
Mastering something new can take a while. The Baby Bjorn Toilet Trainer makes learning to go to the bathroom a little easier for your child. Soft lines make the toilet trainer a comfortable place to sit and ensure that your child is correctly seated. No sharp edges against your child’s skin. It’s easy to adjust the toilet seat to fit your toilet the first time you use it. Now my lottle one can simply put it on and remove it on his or her own.
The other benefit for me is that the Baby Bjorn Toilet Trainer is easy to clean and the inward sloping splashguard prevents spills outside the toilet. This makes it comfortable but also more hygenic. There is a handle (quite practical) which makes it easy to put away when not in use. My daughter discovered a special place to hang it just next to the toilet.
